The frontier area in Western Pennsylvania where the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers converge to form the Ohio was seething with bloody tensions in the 1700s, as Native Americans, early pioneers, British and French agents, and trappers were engaged in a hostile battle for the land.

​Frontier at Three Rivers focuses on one small slice of history, in two segments that take place ten years apart. This fictionalized account is historically accurate, describing the bribery, deception, stealing and political intrigue of the time as well as the atrocities and bloody battles between the warring factions. 

Readers will learn about this time in American History while feeling the unshakable pioneer spirit of the early settlers and the fierce pride of the Native Americans upon whose land this story unfolds.

Sam Hossler wrote the book after a lifetime interest in the outdoors and years of historical research. He uses dates, battles, locations and characters from Pennsylvania's past to create a book that literally races along.
